Pool Restoration in New Braunfels, TX
Stained plaster, a pool that sat green for months, or a worn-out surface? We acid wash, drain and refill, repair fiberglass, and resurface pools.

When a Pool Needs More Than a Cleaning
Weekly care keeps a pool clean. But some pools need a bigger reset. Maybe the pool sat green for months. Maybe the plaster is stained, rough, or flaking. Maybe you bought a home with a pool nobody took care of. That is when restoration makes sense.
Common signs:
- Dark stains on the plaster that brushing and chemicals will not remove
- Black algae spots that keep coming back
- Rough plaster that scratches feet
- Plaster that is flaking, chipping, or showing bare spots
- Cloudy water that never fully clears, even with a clean filter
- A pool that sat green for months, often after a home sale
- Cracks or blisters on a fiberglass pool
Our Pool Restoration Services
Acid Wash
We drain the pool and wash the plaster with a mild acid mix. This strips off a thin top layer, along with stains, algae, and scale. The pool looks brighter and feels smoother. Plaster can only take so many acid washes, so we only recommend it when it will really help.
Chlorine Wash (Chlorine Bath)
For pools with heavy algae but plaster in good shape. We drain the pool and wash the surface with strong chlorine to kill algae. It is gentler on the plaster than an acid wash.
Drain and Refill
Sometimes the water itself is the problem. If stabilizer (CYA), calcium, or salt levels get too high, chemicals stop working well. A full or partial drain and refill resets the water. See how too much stabilizer turns a pool green.
Resurfacing (Replaster)
When plaster is worn out, cleaning will not fix it. Resurfacing puts a new finish on the pool, such as white plaster, colored quartz, or pebble. It is the biggest restoration job, and it also gives the pool a fresh new look. It is a good time to also replace waterline tile.
Fiberglass Pool Repair
Fiberglass pools can get small cracks, blisters, or faded gelcoat. We check how deep the damage goes and repair or refinish the area so water cannot get into the shell.
Draining a Pool in New Braunfels: Know the Water Rules
In dry years, New Braunfels Utilities (NBU) and other local water companies use drought stages that can limit how water is used, including filling pools. Rules change with the Edwards Aquifer level. Before any drain and refill, we check the current drought stage and rules for your water company, so you do not drain a pool you cannot refill.
Also, a pool should never be left empty for long. In our area, ground water and clay soil can push on an empty pool shell. We plan drain jobs to keep the pool empty for as little time as possible.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between an acid wash and resurfacing?
An acid wash cleans the plaster by removing a very thin top layer. Resurfacing puts a brand new finish on the pool. If the plaster is worn out or flaking, an acid wash will not fix it.
Can a green pool be fixed without draining it?
Most green pools can be cleared with chemicals and filtering. Draining is only needed when the pool sat for months, has heavy debris, or the water has too much stabilizer. See our green pool recovery page.
Can I drain and refill my pool during drought restrictions?
It depends on your water company and the current drought stage. Rules change with the aquifer level, so we check the current rules for your address before any drain.
How often can a pool be acid washed?
Plaster can only handle a few acid washes over its life, since each one removes a thin layer. Most pools should not need one more than every few years.
Do you repair fiberglass pools?
Yes. We repair small cracks, blisters, and worn gelcoat on fiberglass pools, and tell you if the damage needs a bigger repair.
